I have a friend who is a big fan of Scarlet>Fire. I thoght it would be great to put a series of shows together with great Scarlet>Fire in them. Already using 7/7/78, 4/16/78, 9/4/91.

Would love some other opinions on this......

Much Thanks in advance

Dick scooped up the best Fire for DP 6. There is a good AUD on this site as well (10-14-83).

I like the Barton 77 Scarlet > Fire (5-8-77).

5-31-92 is a pretty fun late era one too.

8.8.82 @ Alpine Valley has a smokin' Scarlet -> Fire, not to mention the best Satisfaction the Dead ever did. The Estimated is epic as is the whole second set.

Hey,

I know you have more than you can handle already but PLEASE don't make any compilation that does not include

4/23/77

http://www.archive.org/details/gd77-04-23.sbd.jerugim.1827.sbefail.shnf (soundboard)

http://www.archive.org/details/gd77-04-23.hopkins.vernon.17178.sbeok.shnf (AUD)

if you can get the SBD, it's worth it. But if you can't, this one is so good you at least need to get the AUD.

Back-ups (some already mentioned):

5/13/77
5/25/77
4/24/78
9/11/82
4/20/84

11/1/79 and 10/14/83 (DP) are a couple of S/F's I also really like.

beyond cornell I really like Hartford 1983. Interesting sound. Pre drums claock in over an hour on that gig. Good call SDH.

I second the nod to 5-25-77, and collapse in astonishment that no one has yet mentioned 4-23-77. As I said somewhere a few days ago, the Fire has what may be the most astonishing solo by Jerry I've ever heard anywhere.

I second Sdh's 11/1/79 and I'll throw these in:

5/8/77
9/11/82
4/20/84

11/1/79 is my favorite in recent memory

I've always gotten my money's worth from 10.2.77.

For a late era Scarlet > Fire this is my hand's down favorite. Jerry was fired up and the band was hot. There are quite a few Oct 94 shows that were good, but this one rises to the top.

Funny! I must have been typing the 10.14.94 recommendation while you were posting it. Great show and that Scarlet>Fire is hot!

6.25.91 might be another good recommendation.

One of the best S>Fs I've ever heard. Possibly the best.

just to shake it up... why not introduce your friend to 9-16-78? dead meets world, and world likes dead. tag on the ollin thru fire on some mixed disc and everyone is happy. SHN' of the show can be found at that other site.
